WHAT WE DO

No one is immune to the stresses that comes from experiencing, witnessing, or responding to traumatic events.  What defines a traumatic event may be different for one person than another.

The Sangre de Cristo Chaplain Services (SdCCS) Chaplain’s goal is to bring comfort through counseling (helping people cope with the stresses they are facing) in complete confidence.

Chaplains are available to be on-scene when something is going or has gone wrong to help meet the physical and emotional needs of those involved.

We are then available afterward for group debriefing, and can provide individual pastoral counseling to those who need spiritual assistance

or guidance to help them navigate

life after their trauma.

SdCCS Chaplains are not a one-stop-shop for every need. We endeavor to connect people to any and all resources available in order to

provide the appropriate assistance

for the need at hand.

WHO WE SUPPORT

SdCCS Chaplains support four major areas of Chaplaincy, each area requiring its own specific skill set, and a special calling to serve in that area.

First Responder Chaplains support Law Enforcement, Fire Department, EMT, and county First Responder personnel and their families.

Judicial, Prison, Corporate, and Athletic Chaplains support their corresponding organizational personnel and their families.

Hospital and Hospice Chaplains support the sick and injured,

surgical, and terminal patients

and their families.

Community Chaplains support all others, including the homeless, in

the Española Valley communities.

CHAPLAIN CREDENTIALS

SdCCS Chaplains are certified after intensive training, thorough vetting, and a period of interning.

WHO WE ARE

Sangre de Cristo Chaplain Services, Inc.™ is a multi-denominational Christian nonprofit Corporation founded in April 2008.

SdCCS’s primary purpose is secular – to meet the physical and emotional needs of those we serve.  Our Secondary purpose is spiritual support and guidance, and is administered in a legal, ethical,

and respectful manner.

(Chaplains neither proselytize

nor mandate religious agendas.)

Sangre de Cristo Chaplain Services Chaplains are unpaid volunteers who are trained, certified, and called to serve their fellow man in and through the love of Christ.

SdCCS Chaplains are available

on call for Law Enforcement,
